The new soft play and climbing area opened recently as part of a major refurbishment project for Furzefield Leisure Centre.
The new facilities were opened by Brenda Batten, Hertsmere Mayor on Saturday 1st December as part of a family fun day, in support of Noah’s Ark, where over 800 children took part tackling the giant staircase and dice tower, and younger children were having great fun whizzing down the slides in the soft play area.
This new facility isn’t just for little ones, energetic visitors of all ages, including grown-ups can now try out their skills on the new climbing walls, with safety equipment provided and trained instructors on hand to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience there’s no reason for the whole family not to take part.
Once the children have finished climbing and playing relax and unwind with a bite to eat and a drink in the new café area.
These new facilities are part of a £2.4m refurbishment for the centre which also includes a new cycling studio opening this month, a major upgrade to the gym, due to open in January and a new luxury spa being completed by the summer of 2019, along with improvements to changing facilities and reception area.
